They're Here!

We’re excited to have David and Jonathan (Jonny) my brother Rod’s sons with us in Uganda. David is here for three weeks doing photography and Jonny is here for three months working in construction. After arriving last Tuesday, we whisked them off Thursday on safari to Murchison Falls National Park. We had a fantastic time enjoying the animal and bird life and as the weeks go on we’ll post pictures from the trip. The highlight for most of us was seeing nine lions.

Giraffe remain my favourites.
It is a thrill to see them in their natural environment.

Our trip home included an overheated engine which meant we had to stop a few times to get some water. In the last photo you can see David getting water from a bore hole under Jonny’s watchful eye. A downpour of rain at a local market leaving the Mortons soaked to the skin completed David and Jonny’s introduction to travel in Uganda. I’m sure they’ll have more stories as the weeks go on. Welcome to the adventure!

  1. Thanks for the update. It sounds like the safari was great. Glad to see Jonny is putting his new hat to good use.

While you guys were playing with the giraffe Mom and Kendra were shovelling 30 cm of snow that fell on Friday. Mayor Ford did not call in the army though!

    Love, Mom, Dad and Kendra

  2. Great photos, hope the boys enjoy their visit and that their work goes well.
