S is for School

The last couple of weeks have been busy as we finish up some projects before we leave for Canada on June 19th.  Recently  I've been visiting many of the classrooms at the primary school during English language instruction time. I'm hoping to create another alphabet book so I've been snapping pictures in and around the school. I think you'll be able to tell from the pictures why I love spending time at the school.

Away back at the beginning of the rainy season we planted some strawberry cuttings which we received from another family.  Given our dubious record as horticulturalists we had doubts whether these plants would ever survive.  Thanks to the attention of Moses, (a secondary school student who helps us around the house) we've finally been able to enjoy the taste of a fresh strawberry the last few days.  I was told today that Ugandans don't really consider berries 'real' food; they're just for children.  We on the other hand, nibbled away on our treat with immense satisfaction.
